Dr. Eng Lim Goh is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at HPE for high performance computing and artificial intelligence, and leads the development of the next generation computer architecture. His current research interest is in the progression from data intensive computing to analytics, inductive machine learning, deductive reasoning and AI specific to general intelligence, human perception for user interfaces and virtual and augmented reality. In collaboration with NASA he is currently principal investigator of a year-long experiment, aboard the International Space Station (ISS) to operate high performance computers for long duration space travel.

In 2005, InfoWorld named Dr. Goh one of the World's 25 Most Influential CTOs. He was included twice in the HPCwire list of "People to Watch"; 2005 and 2015. He co-presented with NASA at the inaugural 1st plenary of the Supercomputing 2014 Conference to an audience of 2,500 attendees.

Dr. Goh joined SGI in 1989, becoming a Chief Engineer in 1998 and then a Chief Technology Officer in 2000. Prior to SGI, he worked at Intergraph Systems, Schlumberger Wireline and Shell Research. As a Shell Cambridge University Scholar, Dr. Goh completed his PhD research and dissertation on parallel architectures and computer graphics. Dr. Goh has been granted six U.S. patents, with three others pending.

Supervisory Special Agent, FBI National Cyber Security Squad

Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) John Caruthers began his career with the FBI in 1992 as a computer specialist at FBI Headquarters supporting numerous cases, including the Whitewater investigation in Little Rock, Ark. In 1999, Caruthers became an FBI Special Agent investigating a variety of criminal activity, including white-collar crime, the Arellano-Felix cartel in Tijuana, Mexico, computer intrusions and child exploitation. Following the events of 9/11, he worked extensively on terrorism-related matters for more than a year. In 2003, Caruthers became the coordinator for the FBI's "Innocent Images" program and worked several successful cases over the course of many years, to include the nationally celebrated indictment of seven members of NAMBLA's core membership in a multi-state undercover operation. Caruthers has taught cybercrime courses at the International Law Enforcement Academy in Budapest, served special assignments in Moscow and Kyiv, and was recently embedded with the Dutch National Police's High Tech Crime Unit for a year. From 2011 thru 2013, he was responsible for the FBI's Industrial Control Systems and SCADA program. He is currently the SSA of the FBI's National Security Cyber Squad in San Diego.

Chief Security and Trust Officer, Cylance

Malcolm Harkins is the Chief Security and Trust Officer at Cylance Inc. In this role he reports to the CEO and is responsible for enabling business growth through trusted infrastructure, systems and business processes. He has direct organizational responsibility for information technology, information risk and security, as well as security and privacy policy. Harkins is also responsible for peer outreach activities to drive improvement across the world in the understanding of cyber-risks as well as best practices to manage and mitigate those risks. Previously Harkins was Vice President and Chief Security and Privacy Officer (CSPO) at Intel Corporation.

Chief Information Security Officer, Fortinet

As Fortinet's Chief Information and Security Officer (CISO), Philip (Phil) Quade has responsibility for information security and leads the strategy and expansion of Fortinet’s Federal and Critical Infrastructure business. He also serves as Strategic Consultant to Fortinet’s largest enterprise customers. Previously, he was the NSA Director’s Special Assistant for Cyber and Chief of the NSA Cyber Task Force, with responsibility for the White House relationship in Cyber. Earlier, he served as Chief Operating Officer of the Information Assurance Directorate at the NSA. He held a variety of roles earlier in his tenure at the NSA, including as the Head of the Information Operations Technology Center’s Advanced Technology Group, as a professional staffer to the US Senate, and in the Office of the Director for National Intelligence.

Paul Armstrong is the Social Services Director at The Salvation Army for San Diego County. His responsibilities include housing and support services for those experiencing homelessness, nutritional services for those who are food insecure and social services for those impacted by poverty. In addition, he supports efforts to combat human trafficking in the region. Paul retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. During his time in the Navy, he had the opportunity to serve with both Navy and Marine Corps units. Paul has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California, a Master of Divinity from Bethel University, a Masters in Business Administration from Brenau University, and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of New Mexico.

Scott Anderson is the Vice President for Hybrid IT Transformation Solutions within Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). Scott is working with governments, large enterprises and other organizations on transforming to a digital enterprise leveraging the innovations from HPE Labs as well as the hands-on lessons learned from his tenure in HPE Information Technology. Scott joined HPE in 1985, and has held many key roles in HPE Information Technology, including the Infrastructure and Operations (ITIO) organization, responsible for building and operating HPE’s compute facilities around the world including HPE’s enterprise data centers in the US. Scott was instrumental in HPE’s data center consolidation and move to Next Generation data centers. Scott successfully lead the transformation of HPE IT from a traditional IT model to a highly automated, hybrid IT implementation including private and public cloud deployment. Scott played a very significant role in the recent separation of the Hewlett Packard Co. into HP Inc and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, the largest IT separation in history.

Alex Montoya is a business owner, published author, international speaker, and academic consultant. He is the owner of A-MOtivational Communications company. He was one of the first San Diegans mainstreamed from special-education in 1980, a feat that earned him a spot in the San Diego Unified School District “Hall of Fame” in 2013. Alex is the former Manager of Latino Affairs for the San Diego Padres where he oversaw the team’s outreach and charitable programs to the Latino community in San Diego County and Mexico.

Alex is a dynamic presenter and public speaking coach who speaks on how individuals, organizations, and corporations can overcome obstacles and maximize their potential. Drawing on his experiences as a triple amputee, Alex blends humor, emotion, and motivation into his presentations. Through Tate Publishing he has authored books including Swinging for the Fences: Choosing to Live an Extraordinary Life and The Finish Line, and See the Good. In 2016 he was appointed to a three-year term on the State Commission of Employment for People with Disabilities by Assembly Speaker Emeritus Toni Atkins. An Olympic Torch carrier in 1996, he has appeared in the films Artificial Intelligence and Minority Report. Alex earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco.
